It depends on the variant. Some X200 variants have eSIM and some do not. Here is how to check yours in under a minute, before you travel.
The X200 specifically
Vivo includes an eSIM on its flagships in some markets and not others, and the split does not follow the model name. Dial *#06# on the handset itself rather than going by the spec sheet, because the spec sheet is written for whichever market it was published in.
What this means for your trip with a X200
The eSIM is added as a second line, so your own SIM and your own number stay exactly where they are. You set the eSIM as your data line for Oman and leave your usual number for calls and texts.
The service is data only — no calls, no SMS and no Omani number. WhatsApp calls, FaceTime and Messenger all run over data, so those keep working normally.
Check your own handset in under a minute
Open the dialer on your X200 and dial *#06#. If an EID appears alongside the IMEI, the phone has an eSIM. This matters here, because this model shipped in both eSIM and non-eSIM variants depending on the region it was sold in.
It must also be free of a carrier lock. That is the one thing worth confirming before you fly — a locked handset will refuse the profile, and finding out at the airport is too late.
Installing an eSIM on a Vivo phone
- Open your phone's network or SIM settings.
- Look for Add eSIM, Download a SIM, or Add mobile plan.
- Choose the option to scan a QR code.
- Scan the QR code we send you on WhatsApp.
- Set the eJurs line as your data SIM and turn on data roaming.
The QR code arrives by email and on WhatsApp, usually within two minutes of payment clearing. Do this at home while you are still on WiFi: the profile installs and then sits dormant until you land.
Plans
Plans start at OMR 2.500 and are all data only. Validity begins the first time the eSIM carries data, not on the day you buy — so installing it a week before you fly costs you nothing.
